A Boutique Hotel in Haridwar
Amrit Bhawan is a tranquil retreat with a private ghat and garden by the Ganga, offering bespoke experiences to those in pursuit of simpler pleasures. Our 8 unique guest rooms can accommodate up to 20 people. The rooms can be reserved separately or the property may be booked exclusively by one group.
Built as a modest family home in the 1970s with a charming garden and private ghat by the river, it has been expanded into a plush boutique hotel, retrofitted with all modern amenities.
Embracing the old rather than rejecting it, the building has been lovingly conserved, pieces of furniture refurbished, and caretakers retained and re-trained.
Slow down within our intimate set up. Sit by the private ghat and dip your toes in the river. Enjoy freshly prepared local cuisine, al fresco, in the garden. Snuggle up with a book in our cozy library. Discover stories from the past and experience the city of pilgrims at your own pace.

AROUND US
Situated on the edge of Kankhal, the quieter, southern part of modern-day Haridwar filled with ashrams, Amrit Bhawan is an oasis of calm. Apart from finding mention in the Mahabharata, Kanakhala is fabled to be the land where an angry Lord Shiva slayed Daksh to avenge the death of his wife, Sati. The Daksheshwar Mahadev Temple marks this event and is located in the heart of Kankhal, a short 7 minute drive from the property, as are Har ki Pauri and the railway station. Between the serenity of its riverside location and its proximity to the bustle of Haridwar's famous sights, Amrit Bhawan is the ideal place to be and allows guests to experience Haridwar in a unique way.

Drive | A scenic 4.5 hour (200km) drive from Delhi NCR and Chandigarh.
Rail | Haridwar Junction is around 2km away (7 minutes by car) with multiple daily trains
Air | Jolly Grant Airport is approximately 38km away (1 hour by car), serving as the common airport for Dehradun, Rishikesh & Haridwar.
One can easily get around by using e-rickshaws which the team can call on request.
